Philosophy “What
we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not
knowledge in pursuit of the child”
Children learn from both their peers and the environment around them; it’s crucial that we let the children be independent, as well as feel safe with their surroundings. This builds confidence and a positive attitude, as well as self-esteem. They learn to respect those around them, as well as their environment. Whether thru Craft projects, Center time or organized curriculum, children are constantly stimulated by their desire and eagerness to know, the why, what and how of things! Although we teach a curriculum targeted at preschoolers, we encourage learning on all age levels at all times.
One distinct advantage to Family Group Home setting, is obvious, your child can and will get individualized attention, as well as a strong focus on both their strengths and weakness. Its easier in this environment to assess each child’s progress, thusly, work with the child as closely as needed; they learn cooperation with their peers, as well as how to work independently.
As providers and parents, we need to work together to let our children know they are loved and secure within their environment. Thank You Karen LevineKaren’s Kozy Korner Child Care
