Infants/Toddlers

From birth to one year is certainly one of the most significant time periods in a child's development! Children learn from the moment they are born; games like peek-a-boo, singing, talking to your child, are all foundations taught here for language and learning.

As well as frequent walks in strollers or carriages, our indoor activities include: tummy time, music, signing, finger painting. As they progress to the toddler stage they will be included in those activities which include: puppets, books, bubbles, playdough, dancing, coloring, sand & water table, block play, and much more!

We will strive to respect and keep your infants schedule with regard to feedings and sleep as close to yours as possible. Infants on bottles will be fed when they are hungry; they will not lie down with a bottle, or be propped up.

Providers must follow specific guidelines with regard to breast milk. Please communicate your specific needs with regard to this; make sure to supply us the appropriate amounts and bottles on a daily basis.

All infants must bring diapers, wipes, food, and bottles. Karen's Kozy Korner will provide Cribs, sheets, etc. It is also important to remember that we must have a significant amount of extra clothes on hand. All parents receive daily infant report, as well as a weekly request form for supplies. Most important is that the new parent feel comfortable communicating any and all concerns to any staff member here!

As your infant transitions into the toddler phase, we encourage as much motor movement as possible, be it through exercise, dance, manipulative place, etc. We encourage signing as your child learns to communicate; reading, picture books. This is an exciting time, and a prelude to becoming a preschooler.
